Care on the Road: Medical Evacuations in September

In September, the PAL-UA team continued its medical evacuation work, ensuring safe transportation for people in line with their medical and social needs.

Throughout the month, we carried out 23 medical evacuations:

• 12 evacuations from transit centres in frontline regions;
• 11 evacuations for patients requiring hospitalisation on medical grounds.

Patients and evacuees were transported to higher-level healthcare facilities or supported accommodation, depending on their ongoing needs.

Our teams’ routes took them through the Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv, Kirovohrad, Kyiv, Odesa, Vinnytsia and Zaporizhzhia regions. These journeys involved long distances, complex medical cases and many hours on the road. Each evacuation required coordination, preparation for transport, medical care throughout the journey and continuous monitoring of the patient’s condition.

Despite the distances and the complexity of the cases, our team continues to provide care to those who need it.

We thank our partners, whose support enables us to continue medical evacuations and stand alongside people on their difficult journeys to the care they need.
