They then moved on to the creative part of the session, “My Magic Hat: Expressing Myself Through Creativity.” Our psychologist adapted the activity so that every child could participate, express themselves, and feel comfortable. Creating together also helped the children discover shared interests and begin interacting with one another.
As they shaped their magical hats from modelling clay, the children also explored their emotions and feelings. The creative process helped them focus, ease tension, feel calmer, and express their emotions in a safe way.
Every hat turned out to be unique—bright, mysterious, playful, or dreamy, just like the young artist who created it.
